The Canterbury couple part-own South Coast Arden, and the form he has been in over the last 12 months made their decision a no-brainer. Since May last year, South Coast Arden has won seven of his 12 starts and placed in four others. He was impressive in winning the Gr.1 NZ Pacing FFA (1980m) at Addington Raceway on Show Day and he showed his liking for Cambridge Raceway with his dominant win in the Gr.1 4YO Emerald (1609m) last June. He has been out of the money on just nine of his 30 starts and has well-deserved his place in the inaugural running of The Race by Grins.
