Arden bred two year old filly Eminent Arden has shown some early ability at two recent Auckland workouts for trainer Brent Mangos. She is by Bettor's Delight out of Art Major mare Tuapeka Art (out of Petra Star). She looks like she will qualify soon.

*Arden bred Platinum Stride (Captaintreacherous/ Southwind Arden) produced two consecutive wins on the 2nd and the11th April.
The Night Sky Syndicate had success in the Arden Lodge colours with Stellar Arden in the Pat McGirr Memorial Mobile Pace at Methven on 10th April. Stellar Arden is a 4 year old Bettor's Delight filly out of Ardenart. In her next race on the 16th April at Addington there was a false start and in the second running she began too keenly and broke into a gallop, going right back to last. She finished very strongly for fifth.
On April 1st 3 year old Arden bred Tempo Warrior (A Rocknroll Dance/ Ardensplace) had his first race start at Addington. He flashed home quickly at the finish to run a creditable second. He was sold to Kevin and Valerie Schmack at the yearling sales, after which his name was changed from Arden Tempo to Tempo Warrior. He is trained by Denise Ottley and driven by Samantha Ottley. In his second start he broke soon after the start, recovered but went roughly again close to the final 400m to finish 7th.

April was not a lucky month for Arden bred South Coast Arden (Somebeachsomewhere/ Southwind Arden). He drew barrier seven in the $900 000 slot race The Race by Grins in Cambridge on 14th April. From his difficult draw the Somebeachsomewhere gelding had to work very hard and finished fourth for the slot-holders PI and GJ Kennard Bloodstock Ltd. and trainer driver Brent Mangos. He was unlucky to also draw seven in his next start the Group 1 Dawson Harford Taylor Mile but it was an unfortunate locking of wheel stays with Krug at the 900m mark which left him with no chance of finishing amongst it. He then showed signs of mucus in his airways so was scratched from his next start which was also a Group 1.

April was a month for the colts to be weaned from their mums - a time to make friends and learn to share their food.
CC Arden is a colt by Captaintreacherous out of Arden's Choice (Panspacificflight/Winter Rose)
Arden Solitaire is an En Solitaire colt out of Sundon mare Surfin Sunsation.
Arden's Masterpiece is a Vincent colt out of L'oiseau de Nuit.
Melody Arden (Art Major/Venus Serena), Indiana Arden (Panspacificflight/ Southwind Arden) and Johanna Arden (Vincent/Ardenart) have been jogging at Arden Lodge in preparation for a return to training. Indiana Arden and Melody Arden will return to Grant Payne and Johanna Arden is going to Regan Todd. She is owned by The Slice of Heaven Syndicate.
Arden's Memory (Bettor's Delight/ Venus Serena) has broken in nicely for the Stiven family who will race her together.
Arden's Bounty (Captaintreacherous/ Rocknroll Arden) and Handsome Arden (Downbytheseaside/Winter Rose) have been broken in by Ross Houghton for JC International.
Arden bred Arden's Ace (Art Major/ Venus Serena) has taken his stake earnings to over $100k. He ran second to Zoliver in a race at Menangle on 2nd April which took his total earnings to $108,835. He has now won seven times with seven seconds and six thirds.
