The Night Sky Syndicate has success with Stellar Arden at Cheviot meeting

Some members of The Night Sky Syndicate will need to find space on their walls to hang another winner's photo after Stellar Arden took out the 'Lot 382 Half Brother to Ragazza Bromac Mobile Pace' for 3 YO and Older Non-winners Fillies and Mares, at the Cheviot Harness Racing Club's meeting at Addington on Sunday 13th February.

One couple already have winning photos of Someardensomewhere, Celestial Arden, South Beach Arden, Arden's Winstar, Arden's Reality and Arden's Sweetheart on the wall so will need to find more space for their latest race winner. Others are first time owners of an Arden-bred and were excited about their filly's run.

After being passed in at the 2019 National Yearling Sales Stellar Arden was educated by Mikayla Lewis who was working for Brent White at the time.

The Bettor's Delight filly out of Artsplace mare Ardenart had a short time at Kentuckiana Lodge while Mikayla's partner Nathan Purdon was training there. She qualified at Rangiora in August 2020.

She was spelled at Arden Lodge and then went to trainer Grant Payne at Elite Racing Stable when Mikayla and Nathan headed to Australia. She was purchased by The Night Sky Syndicate and had her first race in October 2021 when she finished 5th at Methven. She was then a close second on 5 November at Rangiora. After another second and a third she has now provided the syndicate members who are from Kaiapoi, Pegasus, Timaru, West Melton, Gore, and Tapanui with an exciting win.

Driver Tim Williams made the most of his number four barrier draw and took the filly to the front to make it more of a staying race than a sprint home. It was a good plan in the slushy conditions and she won comfortably. Second home was Bondi Lustre and third Get Back.
